(1) Dated April 12, 1880 and (2) dated April 13, 1880, both concern the printing of "cards" for papers such as the "Young People." (3) Memo dated October 14, 1890; Reminding the recipient not to forget to notify Rolfe when new editions of any of the books are to be printed so that he may send corrections. (4) Dated April 14, 1893; Rolfe has copies of the editions de luxe of Antony and Cleopatra and Romeo and Juliet that he wished to dispose of. He asks the recipient to name an offer for them.

William James Rolfe was born in Newburyport, Massachusetts, on December 10, 1827, the son of John Rolfe and Lydia Davis. After attending Amherst College from 1845-1848, he was principal and master of several high schools in Massachusetts. He later became a prominent Shakespearean scholar and textbook author.
